He was predeceased by: his wife Sandra Stowell; his son Ken Bettinghouse; and his siblings-in-law, Brian Scott Stowell, Ned Keller, Jerry Fell and Jackie Stowell.
He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey Anway of Ionia, Kevin Bettinghouse (Kari) of Ionia and Laura Harper (Gary) of Texas; his sister Sharon Fell of Portland; and also, Sue Bussell Carol (Bill), Rance Stowell and Denny Stowell (Cindy). He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in Joseph's name be made to the Shiloh Community Church.
