He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Walter Bollinger and Rose Bollinger (Roach); his wife Kathleen McIlhargey; his grandchildren, Nikki Walter, Ryan Walter (Royale), Matthew Walter (Jessica), Kathleen Dollison (Kurtis), Maggie Munschy, Aiden Munschy, David Bollinger, Alysha Bollinger, Bridgett Adams (Ryan), Rudi Thurston (Ryan), Stacy Christly (Brian) and Brandy Pearce; his great grandchildren, Tessa, Olivia, Parker, Mchalie, Blakely, Preston, Greyson, Easton, Benson, Caleb, Tristan, Aiden, Stevi, Jayden, Sebastian, Addy, Autum, Emily, Jazper, Copper and Braham; his brother Bruce; and his sister-in-law Nancy Bollinger. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Peter and Paul School in Ionia or University of Michigan childhood cancer research.
