He was predeceased by: his parents, John Heckman and Margaret Heckman (Fletcher); his wife Jenise Fox; and his parents-in-law, Dale and Helen Fox.
He is survived by: his children, Christopher Heckman of Petoskey, Daniel Heckman (Kerry) of Indian River and Jennifer Hunt (Ryan) of Levering; and his grandchildren, Drew (Lindsay Smeltzer), Kathryn, Margaret Heckman and Raija Hunt.
