He was predeceased by: his parents, Julian Bernard and Dolores Bernard (Schultz); his parents-in-law, Arnold and Betty Beyerlein; his sister Susan Klei (Robert); and his brother-in-law Randy Buck.

He is survived by: his children, Bob and Judy; his wife Judy Bernard of Imlay City; his children, Pamela Friedmann (Joe) of Dryden and Michael Bernard (Sarah) of Belmont; his grandchildren, Grayson and Gavin; and his in-laws, Kathy Curtis (William), William Beyerlein (Karen), Diane Philbrick (Allen), Sandy Buck, Robert Beyerlein (Karen) and Rhonda Copeland (John).

In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made in Bob's name to the St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
