He was predeceased by: his parents, Greene Sargent and Carrie Sexton Sargent; his siblings, Lawrence (Janice), Ilean Alcock (Gary), Juanita Warnke (Richard), Winona Powers and Sandra Reid (Charles); and his daughter Barbara Jean Sargent.

He is survived by: his wife Grace Jean; and his sons, Steven (Suzana), Thomas, David (Pamela), Robert (Joy) and Edward (Wendi). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
