David Rutt Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Rutt of Huntington Woods, Michigan, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on November 23, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, David Rutt and Virginia Rydell; and his brothers, Richard and Gary. He is survived by: his daughters, Anne, Ellen and Leah; his friend Dave; his wife Kathleen Erickson; and his grandchild Siah. He is also survived by his family, his ceramics studio classmates, his friends.

Dave & Kathleen hosted small seasonal celebrations during the pandemic; once, Dave was tasked with leading a celebration, choosing to focus on teaching guests how to create a clay vessel called a pinch-pot.
