He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Haasjes and Lois Haasjes; and his siblings-in-law, John, Charlotte Bosma and Rose.

He is survived by: his wife Edna; his children, Mike (Amy) and Jennifer (Kenny); his grandchildren, Victoria, Chayse, Isaac and Tycen; and his siblings, George, Deb and Sandy. He is also survived by brothers-in-law and sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
