He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Dykstra and Dorothy Dykstra (Gaines); his sister Jean Herman; and his brother-in-law Henry Fortuna. He is survived by: his siblings, Michael Dykstra (Sharon) and Mary Fortuna; his daughter Deanna Thompson (Mike); his grandchildren, Josh, Jacob and Nicklas; his son Dennis Dykstra (Jamie); his grandchildren, Ella and Michael; and his pet Molly. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations to any veteran's organization in his memory would be greatly appreciated.
