He was predeceased by: his son Ross Meppelink; his brother George; and his siblings-in-law, Bonnie Meppelink and John Engelsman. He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his children, Dr. Kurt, Sheri Meppelink, Joni, Steve Dykstra, Teri and David Wynn; his daughter-in-law Shari (Joel Hoekstra); his grandchildren, Paul Meppelink, Katrina Meppelink, Nicki, Justin Kollar, Kristin, Hayden Karpinski, Tyler, Louisa Dykstra, Barry, Megan Dykstra, Cody, Kaitlyn Dykstra, Kaylee, Heath Brower, Meghan, Jake Berens, Emily, Kevin Boschma, Lindsey, Logan Schimmel, Gina, Eric Rickert, Alec, Bridget Crumb and Ryan Crumb (Maddie Herd); and his sister Betty Engelsman. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM. A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Messiah Christian Reformed Church (2900 Springdale St, Hudsonville, MI 49426).
