He is survived by: his close friend Judy Becker of Des Plaines, Illinois; his son Gary D. Ames of Hillsdale; his stepdaughter Jennifer Miller of Ann Arbor; his grandson Gary D. Ames Jr. of Osseo; and his siblings, Bellva Abraham (Robert) of Naples, Florida and Truman Ames of North Carolina.
