She was predeceased by: her parents, Franklin Thorndike and Winifred Teasdale Thorndike; her siblings, Franklin Thorndike (Brud) and Dorothy Smith Leahy; her nieces, Betty Jean Smith Bennett and Sally Sirk; her nephew James Smith; and her granddaughter Jennifer Lynne Murphy.

She is survived by: her niece Judeth Thorndike-Grannell (Gary) of Benton Harbor, MI; her great-nephew Larry Stewart (Ruth) of Asheville, NC; her stepson Michael Murphy (Alice) of Jerome, MI; her grandson William Murphy (Brooke); her great grandchildren, Vanessa and Juliana of Holt, MI; and her cousin Margaret Bowen (Chip) of Jefferson, MD.
