He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace H. Godfrey and Freda A. Godfrey (Kies); and his great grandchild Tyler Aube. He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo Lewis; his children, David Godfrey (Cynthia) of Pittsford, Becky Sprow (Michael) of Hudson and Nancy Eshelman (Steve) of Adrian; and his brothers, Roger Godfrey (LoAnn) of Livonia and Richard Godfrey (Martha) of Jonesville.
