He is survived by: his daughters, Danielle Smith (Adal) of South Bend and Kristin Stanley (Greg) of Greencove Springs; his grandchildren, Logan, Adal III, Carter and Alexavier; and his siblings, Mike Self and Pat Self. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
