He was predeceased by: his parents, James O. Nye and Eva Mae Nye (Wilson); and his siblings, Gloria, Dorothy Wisniewski, Bill Nye, Gene Nye and Charles Nye.
He is survived by: his wife Arlene; his children, James D. Nye (Michele), Cindy Besaw (Robert) and Linda Schalkofske (David); his grandchildren, Autumn Bellmore (Matt), Andrew Nye (Dana), Kaitlin Braun (Codie), Brooke Fisher (Cory), Kira Nelson (Stephen), Becca Schalkofske-Fee (Timothy) and Nicholas Schalkofske; his great grandchildren, Cole, Tucker, Ainsley, Olivia, Jack, Caiden, Ellie, Teddy and Leo; his siblings, Barbara Linton (Ron), Carol Doktor (Mike), Frank Nye (Mary), John Nye (Debbie) and Joe Nye; and his siblings-in-law, Barbara Nye and Bill Wisniewski.
Because of the risk involved with exposure to Covid, no funeral is being planned at this time.
