He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman F. Liske and Caroline Liske (Schultz); and his siblings, Bertha Schwenke, Ida Ritthaler, Alma Liske, Esther Lipski, Leonard, Arnold, Herbert, Arthur and Henry Liske.

He is survived by: his spouse Gayle M. Brandenburg; his daughters, Barbara Golder (Daryl) of Hubbard Lake, Tamyra Smith (Don) of Tokyo, Beverly Mayville (Bruce) of Fairview and Lori Kissau (Scott) of Traverse City; his grandchildren, Melissa Krueger, Douglas Krueger (Jesse), Bradley Gerke (Rachel), Kristin Beebe (Jeff), Brian Gerke, Alicia Liske (Matt), Ciji Marckini (Nick), Jason Gerke (Rene Lounsbery) and Elyse Kissau; his sister Alice Morrow of Hubbard Lake; and his sister-in-law Lucille Liske of Livonia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or Alpena Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels.
