He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Rumbles and Catherine Rumbles (Brasseur); his wife Carol Plakke; and his brother William Rumbles. He is survived by: his sons, Tim Rumbles (Sherry) and Todd Rumbles (Lisa); his grandchildren, Anna Rumbles, Samuel Rumbles (Abigail), Megan Rumbles, Lauren Rumbles and Nathan Rumbles; his son Steve Fivenson (Sarah); and his sister-in-law Marilyn Rumbles.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church-Hubbard Lake.
