He is survived by: his wife Linda Erickson; his stepchildren, Sandra Holland and Michael Holland (John Kimbrough); his siblings, Gerald Hayward, Bill Hayward (Carol), Sher Hayward and Jim Hayward; and his brothers-in-law, Clayton McLaren and John K. Featherstone. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
