He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Delmar Grissom and Maxine Ruby Grissom; his wife Hope Grissom; his sons, Joe Grissom (Elizabeth), Dave Grissom (Amy), Scott Grissom (Rebecca Browning), Roy Berry (Jennifer) and Kenny Berry (Tasha); his grandchildren, Morgan, Felicity, Tesa, Alice Sophia, Julia Rose and Bud; and his siblings, Richard Grissom (Cheri), Charlie Grissom and Paul Grissom (LeAnn).
