She was predeceased by: her parents, Johannes Nydegger and Bertha Nydegger; and her siblings, Hans Nydegger and Erna Messerli. She is survived by: her children, Robert C. Shurtleff Jr. and Stephanie Shurtleff Heslip; her grandchildren, Louis "Chip" Kapp III, Sean Heslip, Peter Heslip (Brooke J. M.), Alexandrea Shurtleff and Chloe Shurtleff; and her sister-in-law Uli Nydegger.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Hulda's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the Wounded Warrior Project. The family has chosen to send donations to Wounded Warrior ProjectDonate Now (https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org).
