With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edna Louise Darnell-May in Howell, Michigan, who passed away on December 5, 2024 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Tynes and Zelma Tynes; her daughters, Edna Hrbal and Patricia Watson; her former husband Chesley Darnell; and her husband Noah May.

She is survived by: her grandchildren, Shannon Hrbal-Hall, Shane Hrbal (Carol), Sean Hrbal (Sheri), Michael Catalano (Kelly), Jay Catalano (Adria), Tracie Darnell, Terry Darnell (Jennifer), Jeri-Lynn Ionita (Theodoro) and Rachel Hall-Goyer (James); and her sisters, Dorothy Smith and Jean Watkins.

Visitation was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Michigan Memorial Funeral Home (30895 W Huron River Dr, Flat Rock, MI 48134). A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the Michigan Memorial Park (32163 Huron River Dr, Flat Rock, MI 48134).

She had a ready smile, a positive attitude, and a hug so warm that a snowman would melt...instantly! She was a faithful wife, a good mother, a grand grandmother, loved her family, and was a dear friend to me. Yep, she was a true, Southern Lady!”
