With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Allen Tjalsma of Howard City, Michigan, who passed away on January 25, 2023 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Tjalsma and Dorothy Tjalsma; his siblings, Jim and Jerry Emory; his nephew Kirk Emory; and his brother-in-law Jose Gutierrez.
He is survived by: his wife Linda; his children, Casey (VaNia Tjalsma), Anthony (Karla Gutierrez), Chad Gutierrez and Matthew (Samantha Shields); his grandchildren, Bayden, Cambel, Gage, Lukas, Bella, Siana, Simone and Mateo; his parents-in-law, Oswaldo and Josie Gutierrez; his siblings-in-law, Oswaldo Jr., Penny Gutierrez, David, Christina Gutierrez, Lewie and Gloria Carlson; and his pet Maxwell. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, very special cousins and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association or Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital.
