He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Diehm and Olive Diehm (Reis); and his daughter Jennifer. He is survived by: his wife Carole; his children, Celeste Diehm Jessica Plouff of Grand Rapids and John Diehm of Grand Rapids; his grandson Samuel Plouff; and his brother William Palmer of Wisconsin.
