He was predeceased by: his parents, John VanWagner and Dorothy VanWagner; his wife Annette; and his siblings, Linda and Rick.

He is survived by: his children, Mandy Fisk (Rob), Kelly Price, Christina Van Wagner and Michael Van Wagner Jr.; his grandchildren, Zachary Sissell, Chelsey Sissell, Chad Sissell (Madelyn), Aryanna Price, Andreas Price, Amarea Price, Katie Van Wagner, Hayley Armstrong (David, Sr.) and Kayla Casebolt (Brodey); and his siblings, Deborah Peacock, Jacklyn Bassett (Ron) and John Van Wagner (Pat).

Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:55 AM at the First Bapitst Church of Howard City (304 E Shaw St, Howard City, MI 49329). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
