It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martin James Van Dyke of Howard City, Michigan, born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, who passed away on December 7, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter VanDyke and Edna VanDyke (Harriet); his daughter Mary; his siblings, Marian and Peter; his son-in-law Richard Bierling; his granddaughter Kristine Marie Lytle; and his great grandchild Andrew Josiah Bierling.
He is survived by: his significant other Harriet; his children, Cathy Young (Steve), Sandra Lytle (Jon), Martin Jr. (Sharon), Steven (Mary), Michael (Melissa) and Daniel (Heather); and his sister-in-law Bernice VanDyke. He is also survived by his 8 children and their spouses, 27 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
