She was predeceased by: her parents, Ambrose "Jiggs" Bonini and Olga Bonini (Kangas); her former husband Curtis Royal; and her brothers, Ambrose, Anthony, Robert and Michael Bonini.

She is survived by: her son Russell "Rusty" Royal (Sheila) of Baraga; her grandchildren, DySean, Dhanya, Breyelle and Princess; and her siblings, Maryann Anderson (Walter), Caroline Erkkila (Harry), George Bonini (Rosalie), Rosemarie Hermanson (Paul), Barbara Richard and Patricia Carbine (William). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM and at 2:00 PM at the Jacobson Funeral Home (200 L Anse Ave, L'Anse, MI 49946).
