He was predeceased by: his parents, John William and Lilly Anna Maria Kolehmainen (Ohman). He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Salo (David) of Chassell, Peter Kolehmainen (Hannah) of Driggs, ID, Mary Hardowa (Robert) of Medicine Hat and Alberta; his grandchildren, Ean, Owen, Erick (Lauren), Eli, Joseph, Mary, Lucille, Aidan and Bella; and his great grandchild Calvin.

Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Memorial Chapel Funeral & Cremation Service - Hancock (1017 Quincy St, Hancock, MI 49930). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
