He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Bassett and Adah Bassett (Edinger); and his sister Bessie Maxine Woodruff. He is survived by: his wife Mina Mae Shaw; his daughters, Sylvia Glowacki of Houghton Lake, Sharla Loiacano (John) of Clearwater, FL., Denise Smith (Casey) of Lambertville and Ranel Lapan (Fred) of Pinconning; and his brothers, Lowell Bassett of Columbus, OH and Norman Bassett (Ann Brehm) of Great Falls, MT.
