He was predeceased by: his parents, David Brenner and Hallie Brenner (Wheelock); and his granddaughter Jodie Housworth. He is survived by: his friend Euchre; his children, Nancy West (John), Janet Dell and Thomas Brenner (Kathy); his grandchildren, Jamie Sue Scott (Terry), April Brenner, Lee Dreyer (Gina Haynes) and Nate Dreyer; his great grandchildren, Summer and Thomas; his sister-in-law Glenda Schwartz (Harlow); his spouse Evelyn; and also, Howard Schwartz (June), Elwood Schwartz (Eleanor) and Harlow Schwartz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Michigan or St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
