She was predeceased by: her parents, Forrest Brooks and Magdalene Theaman Brooks. She is survived by: her husband James Johnson; her children, Joni Leatherman and Louis Leatherman; and her stepsons, Joe and Jason Johnson. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
