He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Bectel and Mildred Bectel (Quinn); his parents-in-law, Wayne and Margaret Shafer; his son Dennis; his grandson Stephen; his brothers, Terry (Nancy) and Maurice; and his sister-in-law Valerie.
He is survived by: his wife Geraldine "Gerry" Bectel (Shafer); his children, Brad Bectel (Luann), Michelle Gray (Stephen), Cindy Zimmerman (Brian) and Shawn Bectel (Dawn); his grandchildren, Brandi Onachilla (Brian), Britney Bectel, David Gray (Melissa), Andrew Gray (Karla), Matthew Gray (Christian), Jarred Gray (Jessica), Jacob Gray, Cody Gray (Rae), Benjamin Gray (Bri), Cole Zimmerman, Austin Bectel, Hannah Bectel and Lauren Bectel; his great grandchildren, Aleck Hooker, Makenna Bectel, Savannah Gerrans, Bryson Bectel, Caleb Gray and Krosli Gray; his siblings, Jerry Bectel and Carol Welch; and his sister-in-law Teresa Bectel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
