He was predeceased by: his wife Louise Swiftney-Gillish; his daughter Renee Gillish; his parents, Pete Gillish and Harriett Anderson; and his close friend Bob Fields.
He is survived by: his children, Amanda Shoup (Tony) of Fruitport, Monica Fox (Scott Broton) of Ravenna and Bernie "Bryan" Gillish of Fruitport; his grandchildren, Michelle Serritos (Rich), Luke, Colin, Troy Fox (Sabrina), Morgan, Elizabeth, Tiffany Fox (Damien), Decklan, Sawyer, Jacob Fox (Whitney), Hailee, Conner, Sedona, Harper and Riley; and his sister Bunny Pellegrom (Pete).
