He was predeceased by: his parents, James L. Johnson and Wilma E. Johnson (Emery); his brother Larry Johnson; and his granddaughter Allison Haywood. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Lee Johnson (Hass); his daughter Leah Ijere (Emmanuel); his stepson Matthew J. Haywood (Sunny); his grandchildren, Anala Oliver, Zoe Ijere, Gavin Ijere, Isaac Ijere, Matthew Haywood Jr., Daniel Haywood and Jacob Haywood; his brother Dana Johnson; and also, Tom Johnson (Melinda) and Muriel Archbold (David).
