He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Lukavsky and Anna Lukavsky (Harbit); his son Christopher; and his siblings, Donald and Ruth.

He is survived by: his children, Joseph (Sandy) of Montebello, Thomas (Heidi) of St Louis, Missouri, Timothy (Stacie) of Charlotte, Robert Lukavsky (Lindsay) of Mason, Michigan, John Lukavsky (Amanda) of Ypsilanti, Michigan and Megan Lukavsky Jewell of Bettendorf; his grandchildren, Anya, Sophia, Andrew, Alaina, Sarah, Taylor and Robert Jr; and his siblings, Helen Kurtz, Shirley McGraw, Robert Lukavsky, Marge Schrock, Joyce Scranton and Dennis Lukavsky.
