Brandy Milles Obituary
Brandy Sarah Milles passed over into God's hands on the evening of June 18, 2018. Born on September 14, 1977 in Richmond, Virginia, Brandy spent the last period of her hard fought battle with cancer in the loving care of her life partner Matthew Lucas, at their home in Holt, Michigan with close family members by her side.
Brandy was an RN with over 15 years of dedicated service to the caring of others, working since 2007 at Sparrow Specialty Long Term Acute Care in Lansing, Michigan. After graduating from Lansing Everett High School in 1995 she went on to receive a degree in Nursing from Lansing Community College. When not working Brandy and Matt enjoyed time together at their boat in Grand Haven, Michigan where they were members of the Grand Haven Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 925 Auxiliary.
Brandy was accomplished at playing the piano and naturally talented at sports including bowling, golf and billiards. She was a lover of animals and routinely fed the birds and rabbits in her back yard. She and Matt loved to take evening walks at their local zoo. Brandy liked to cook and always looked forward to trying out a new restaurant or a weekend outing to Frankenmuth, Michigan for her favorite chicken dinner.
Brandy's friends will always remember her beautiful smile, her kind heart, and distinguishing style that included her favorite choker necklace, self-manicured nails and a colorful headband. Brandy was proceeded in death by her loving mother, Audrey (Dee-Dee) Furuichi – Milles. She leaves behind her beloved Uncles, Clifford Furuichi of Alexandria, Virginia and Glenn Omura, his wife Linda and their family of Okemos, Michigan; and daughter Julie of Lansing Michigan.
But most of all she leaves her rock, her true sole mate and forever love Matt with the only regret that they did not meet earlier in life. May God keep Brandy in his loving care until she and her loved ones are joined together again. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Holt Chapel, 5035 Holt Road, Holt, with Chaplain Steve Ezop officiating.
Interment will follow Maple Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Monday at 12:00 PM until the time of service.
