He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Springstead and Peggy Springstead (Bowman). He is survived by: his wife Rose Ann Bishop; his children, Marisa Springstead (Chad Knudtson) and Nathaniel Springstead (Anne); his grandson Chase Knudtson; his stepmother Betty Springstead; his brothers, John Springstead (Wanda), Andrew Springstead (Bonnie) and Matthew Springstead (Brenda); his siblings-in-law, Anita and Jack Johnson; and his uncle Dick.
