He was predeceased by: his parents, Mable Bell Slayton and Floyd Roy Grooms; and his brother Floyd Grooms Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Brian Eugene Grooms (Veronica Grooms), Bret Douglas Grooms (Dawn Grooms) and Becky Ann Ruhala (Ben Ruhala); and his grandchildren, Brandon Grooms, Jared Grooms, Robert Grooms, Ian Ruhala, Joseph Ruhala, Moriah Garcia, Kailey Grooms and Annabel Ruhala.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Dryer Funeral Home (101 N 1st St, Holly, MI 48442). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at 1:00 PM.
