She was predeceased by: her mother Carrie E. Copening; her brothers, James Copening and Norris Copening; her father James Copening; and her husband Esau Bishop.

She is survived by: her former husband William M. Dunbar; her husband Dede; her son William Dunbar (Olha Dunbar); her grandson Ian Dunbar (Jasmine Dunbar); her great grandchildren, Eli Dunbar and Abel Dunbar; and her grandchildren, Aaron Dunbar and Olivia Dunbar. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
