He was predeceased by: his parents, Garret Pothoven and Stella Pothoven; his in-laws, Peter, Janet Buteyn and Dale Topp; his sister Marcia; his brother-in-law Lee Koning; and also Carol.
He is survived by: his wife Iris Pothoven (Buteyn); his grandchildren, Carla, Kurt Mast, Kyle, Kristen Mast, Kaitlyn, Chris Jacobs, Cheryl, Patrick, Savanna Schuiteman, Taylor, Mitchell Lubbers, Morgan, Dominick Gamba, Payton Stark, Chuck, Laura Pothoven, Elise, Matthew LeFebre, Lucas, Erin Pothoven and Emma Pothoven; his great grandchildren, Benjamin, Daniel, Rebekah Mast, Henley, Ryland Jacobs, Lincoln Lubbers, Cora, Rowen, Cannen Gamba and Levi LeFebre; his brother Ken (Betty); and his in-laws, Tom, Cindy Buteyn of Rockford and Pat Koning of Byron Center.
