He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Elwell and Anna Elwell. He is survived by: his wife Meriem; and his daughters, Elizabeth Jeske and Mary Lynne Lapinski (Terence). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the First Presbyterian Church in Holland in Roy's name.
