She was predeceased by: her parents, Theo Kats and Grace Kats (Engelsman); her brothers, Derek Kats and Sherlyn Kats; her siblings-in-law, Shirly Kats and Jim Schlatter; and her niece Gloria Timmer.
She is survived by: her children, Darrell Vande Hoef (Conni Schaftenaar), Paula Drumm (Doug) and Jeff Vande Hoef (Pam); her son-in-law John Timmer; her grandchildren, Keely Selko (Mark), Tracy Rumans (Winter), Jennifer Timmer, Kevin Drumm (Brianne) and Ali Drumm (Chris Thoren); her stepgrandchildren, Taylor Krebill (Andrew), Travis Shamery (Kaityn) and Spencer Shamery (Anna); her great grandchildren, Joe Selko, Owen, Quincy Rumans, Kaylee, Anderson and Adleigh Drumm; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Lucie Shamery and Maci Krebill; her sister Marianne Schlatter; and her sister-in-law Irene Kats.
A graveside service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Pilgrim Home Cemetery (370 E 16th St, Holland, MI 49423).
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to one of the organizations Jean had supported for many years: Words of Hope, Samaritan's Purse, or Faith Hospice.
