He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Jacobs and Sena Jacobs (Volkema); his former wife Irene De Kleine Jacobs; and his siblings, Anna Elzinga, Beatrice, Stanley and Nelson Jacobs.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Gemmen Roon Jacobs; his children, David, Lois, Katherine, Rachel, Ian Gainor, Laura, Adam Davie, Mary, John Kuiper, Elizabeth, Matt Kolenda, Aaron, Samantha, Isaac, Deborah, Nancy Jacobs, Peter Heywood (Wesley Heywood), Christine, Dirk Mouw, Willem, Kathryn and Natalie Sytsma; his brother Harvey Jacobs; and his sisters-in-law, Esther DeKleine and Rose Vander Vliet. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity and Hospice of Holland.
