She was predeceased by: her parents, George Boerman and Ruth Boerman (Moulder); her husband Matthew Okkema; her great grandchild Zachary Israels; her siblings, Marian Rottman, Margaret VanKoevering and Ken Boerman; and her in-laws, Harold Rottman, Howard Swinehart, Terry VanKoevering, Elinore Okkema and Steve Kolk.
She is survived by: her children, Bruce Okkema (Mary) of Zeeland, Ruth Bratt (Dave) of Rockford, Sue VandenBrink (Bruce) of Dorr and Joni Brookens (Ron) of Zeeland; her grandchildren, Rosemary Kuperberg (Robert), Robin VanBragt (Rick), Holly Israels (Kyle), Corrie VanEck (Mike), Tom Bratt (Jessica), Joe Bratt (Thea), Jenny Heyboer (AJ), Sarah Bratt (Gary), Matt Vriesman (Katie), Brian Brookens (Kristin), Scott Brookens (Kristina) and Heidi Veen (David); her sister Helen Swinehart; and her siblings-in-law, Sharon Boerman, Mary Jean Kolk, Florence and Garry Niewenhuis. She is also survived by four children, 12 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren.
