He was predeceased by: his siblings, Cory Brouwer and Rose Harvey; and his siblings-in-law, Marie Brouwer and Elmer Arens. He is survived by: his wife Emily Brouwer; his children, Amy Veldman (Bruce), Lonnie Brouwer (Dianne Rife) and Loren Brouwer; and his sisters, Betty Arens, Shirley Verekee (Glen) and Judy Weber (Peter). He is also survived by four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to North Holland Reformed Church - 12050 New Holland St., Holland, MI 49424.
