He is survived by: his wife LaVonne Jean Barkel; his children, Tim, Laurie Dekker, Diane, Ron Paris, Dean and Joni Dekker; his siblings, Gordon Dekker, Robert Dekker (Voncille), Thomas Dekker, Phyllis Looman (Jim), Janice Melton and Laurie Compau (Roy); and his in-laws, Daniel Barkel, Robert Barkel (Jan), Steve Barkel (Kerry) and Lynn Barkel. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren.
