He was predeceased by: his son-in-law Rick Brand; his grandson-in-law Evan Barriger; and his great grandchild Oliver Brand. He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Cathy Brand, Cheryl Compaan (Norlyn), Jim Kolean and Rob Kolean (Heidi); his grandchildren, Matt Brand (Elizabeth), Jon Brand (Anne), Jake Compaan (Rachel), Josh Compaan (Joy), Kendra Barriger, Krista Strom (Evan), Christopher Kolean (Natalie) and Annika Kolean; his great grandchildren, Pierson, Tessa Brand, Elizabeth Compaan and Arlo Barriger; his sister Laurel Boeve (Jim); and his siblings-in-law, Marilyn Kolean, Jim Harris and Dale Reimink (Alyce). He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
