She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Carpenter and Rachel Carpenter (Jackson); her grandson Blaze Ross; her brother Richard Carpenter; and her former husband Merl "Sam" Rose.
She is survived by: her husband Karl Sawdey; her children, John Rose of Hillsdale, Jennifer Rose of Marion, Rachel Pedroza (Miguel) of Litchfield and Norma Adams (Cory) of Dennison, Ohio; her niece Jessica Carpenter of Hillsdale; and her nephew Artie Carpenter (Loretta) of Hillsdale. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; two great-granddaughters.
