He was predeceased by: his parents, John Houtz and Hattie Mae Houtz (Goodman); and his grandson Don Taylor Workman. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Byers; his children, Angel Holbrook (Bob), Jerry Houtz (Crystal), Tina Houtz (Luke) and David Houtz (Amanda); his grandchildren, Megan Kraus (Ethan), Kaylee Pope, Bradley Harper, Brady Harper, Kaylee Aemisegger and Braxton Houtz; and his siblings, John Houtz II (Mary), Alice Stemen (John) and Jenny Arrend.
