He was predeceased by: his parents, James Bumpus and Inge Bumpus (Breisch). He is survived by: his wife Nancy Bumpus; his children, Jay Bumpus II of Hillsdale, John Bumpus of North Port and Elizabeth Dow (Corey) of Coldwater; his grandchildren, Madeline and Arthur Jay Dow; and his sisters, Kirly Maxon (Kirk) of Avondale, Cindy Peterson (Curt) of Hillsdale and Heidi Beagle (Rick) of New Haven, Indiana. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
