She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Yates and Donna Yates Jr. (Estey). She is survived by: her husband Clarence W. Kern; and her siblings, Laura Smoyer of Las Vegas, Pearl Tackett (Chris) of Hillsdale and Robert J. Yates III (Brenda) of Lincoln Park. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
