He was predeceased by: his daughter Lynn Hays Baumgartel; his grandson Ryan Baumgartel of Matthew Jankauski; and his siblings, John Borden and Alma Howes. He is survived by: his children, Diana Wilcox (Joe), Robert Baumgartel (Rebecca), Judy Jankauski (Larry), Zoe Marcus (Howard), Jill Baumgartel and Wendy Gibler (Jeffrey). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
